Recently, Microsoft announced the MS Office Mobile app totally free for “home use” for Android Phone Platforms. Its core applications comprise PowerPoint Mobile, Word Mobile and Excel Mobile intended for Windows Phone, Android and iOS. Though OneNote Mobile, Lync Mobile and SharePoint Newsfeed are not included in the Office Mobile suite, they can be downloaded separately from the app stores even without an Office 365 subscription.

Originally, Office Mobile was unveiled as Pocket Office in 1996 on Windows CE v1.0 Handheld PCs. It has been restructured several times with the latest version released on October, 2012 as Microsoft Office Mobile 2013 together with the launch of Windows Phone 8.
