When using an eCommerce website builder, one of the main things that you need to think about is how you are going to manage the profiles of your members. The default way for them to check out after they have filled the cart may be as a guest, in which case you do not have to worry about a profile, but your returning customers may want to make one so that they can store their information, saving time and work the next time that they want to buy something.

First off, you must have a way for people to make these profiles on their own. They should be able to use web forms to submit the information to you, and the profile, complete with a name and a password, will be instantly created. You do not want to set it up so that you, as the site’s administrator, have to make the profile after they give you the information. You could have hundreds of customers a week, so doing all of that work would be a full-time job. Just have the customers do it themselves.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you may want to have a set amount of time after which an inactive profile will be deleted. Sometimes, people are going to make profiles when they first buy things, thinking they will be back, but they will never return. The system should automatically delete those profiles so that you are not storing all of that information.
